Nine month update

We have had such a fun summer with Ryan & Reese.  They will be 10 months next weekend and it has been so amazing.  They are both so busy crawling everywhere and will probably be walking in the next month or so.  Reese seems more interested in walking, while Ryan is pretty mellow and content crawling all over the place.  They are both getting their top teeth--all 4 at the same time.  We just had their 9 month checkup last week and they are doing fantastic.  They both weigh 17 lbs. 10 oz. and are 28 1/2 in. tall.  Skinny and tall, just like Dad.  They are both sleeping through the night, about 12 hours.  Going down at 7pm and waking up between 6-7am.  A dream come true!

Fireball

Reese has been a fireball this week when it comes to sleeping in the crib.  She has been avoiding bed time and always wants to be where the action is.  Last night I got her to sleep by crawling in the crib and laying with her.  The three nights before that she slept in our bed with us because it was impossible to get her down to sleep.  Ryan is our little sleeper and she goes down without any fuss.  We think Reese is just going through a phase, but we'll have to see how the next week goes.  I'm not doing well with the 'cry it out' method because I think it's going to emotionally scar her.

Busy bees

Boy, you two are busy bodies.  You've both been crawling all over the house for about one month now, since you were 6 months old.  You have kept us on our toes running after you.  You both love to stand on the edge of the sofa or any other stationary object (like the laundry basket below).  It seems you'll both be early walkers, but I'm in no rush for that day.  We're getting ready to go to San Diego this weekend for the fourth of July.  Your first 4th of July at the beach house.  It will be so fun for the whole family.

Erica & Patrick's wedding

We had such a blast in San Diego for Erica & Patrick's wedding.  The girls were such little troopers and Dana's sister, Andie helped us out by babysitting them in the hotel room.  What a fun weekend we had!

Little cherubs

We are in San Diego for Erica & Patrick's wedding and we've made some pit stops along the way to visit family and friends.  Today we saw Gigi & Great Poppa.  The girls had fun climbing on their furniture and crawling around.  I caught some cute photos of Reese on Gigi's reading chair.

 Then we were back at the hotel getting ready for the wedding and I captured some shots of little RyRy.  Look at that face and those eyes.  She is such a doll.

Family bed

There's nothing better than napping with babies.  Today we were SO tired and daddy couldn't resist taking a photo of our family nap time.  Me, Maddie, & the girls.

Swim lessons

Yes, we're probably crazy for putting our itty bitty babies in swim lessons, but we can't resist.  It's important to start early and the classes through the city are SO cheap.  Here we are at our first day of lessons.

First tooth

Ryan cut her first tooth today.  Reese is starting to crawl, getting on her knees and scooting.  Ryan is close to crawling too, but seems fairly content laying on her back and playing with her feet.

First foods

Reese & Ryan are 5 1/2 months now and every day is a new adventure with these two.  They are both close to crawling right now, but Reese seems to have more interest in scooting than Ryan.  We started some solid foods and they've done really well.  They both love rice cereal, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, avocado, & banana.  That's all we've tried for now, but it's a good start.  Another milestone this week is sleeping in the nursery and not in our room.  It was an easier adjustment than I thought and both girls are going down between 8:30-9:30 for the night and sleeping until about 5am.  They will wake up to eat and then fall back asleep until 8pm.  Such wonderful babies!

Identical sleepers

I put the girls down for a nap today and they were fussing a little.  After they settled down, I went in to check on them and they had positioned themselves in exactly the same way.  How cute is that??
