Trick or Treat!!

We had a lot of fun with Halloween this year.  Cory was all about dressing up and the girls were really into it too.  At the last minute I bought Ryder the tiger costume that he wore and I must say that he was an adorable little tigger.  Cory put away the pharaoh costume and decided to be a scary Halloween guy with a hockey mask and bloody worksuit.  Our cousins came over and Dana & Scott brought Ms. M over for some trick or treat fun.  We visited a few houses up and down the street and then it was time to sit in our driveway and hand out candy while we admired the costumes.

Party time!

 

It was all about the Halloween parties for us this past weekend.  We were invited to 2 parties on Saturday night and they both started at 6pm.  One was a family party and the other was adults only, both were costume parties.  We all dressed up and headed to the first party at my friend's house in PV.  It's an amazing party each year and we all have tons of fun.  They have a dance floor, live animals like tarantulas & snakes, and a haunted house.  It's seriously insane.  Here we are heading to the family party

 We then headed to the 2nd party of the night after we got the kids to bed & Mimi came over to babysit.  It was a great party with awesome costumes and great food.  Dylan & Stacy rigged up a real life electric chair that gave people quite the shock if they dared.  It was too much fun!

Pumpkin Update

Cory carved another pumpkin tonight.  I was just informed that the bat/vampire one we did the other night was Ryan's choice.  Tonight we did a werewolf for Reese.  It took Cory an hour to carve it out but it turned out awesome!  The pictures don't do it justice but I'm posting them anyway.

Reese & Ryan were painting on the "weasel" today (they now call it easel and it makes me sad, so I'll still call it weasel for nostalgia purposes).  They were painting at the same time on either side and it was funny to watch them paint because Reese is left handed and Ryan is right handed so they looked like true mirror twins today.

Pumpkin Fun

We have been in the Halloween mood for some time now since every day is costume/dress up day at the Whyte House, but there's nothing like carving pumpkins to get you in the Fall spirit.  It was a team effort for awhile and then Cory took over with the carving.  We traced one of those crazy patterns and it turned out great.  Here was our pumpkin adventure last night:

Fall Festival

The girls' school had a Fall Festival this weekend and they had tons of fun dressing up as Little Bo Peep and her sheep.  I borrowed the sheep costume from Holly hoping that it would fit Ryder but it was too big.  Instead Ryan put on the sheep costume and Reese was Bo Peep.  They looked so adorable and had a blast with their friends at the festival.

We love Mexico

This has been a busy month and the girls were out of school for 2 weeks, so we went to Mexico AGAIN!  This past weekend we had the Ryan Team retreat and stayed at Mimi & Papa's house in Rocky Point.  Down on Thursday and came back on Sunday.  It was such a relaxing weekend.  Cory had the chance to golf 2 days in a row and he was in heaven.  My mom treated me to a mani/pedi at the spa for my birthday, which was awesome.  The first night we arrived there was a storm and the wind was blowing everywhere.  It blew over by the morning and the weather was gorgeous on Friday morning.  We spent a few hours at the beach where the girls had their hair braided, ate mangoes on sticks, and got henna tattoos on their ankles.  The girls love the beach and swimming at the pool.  It's such a fun age where they love to explore and find excitement in the simplest things.  I love watching the world through their eyes.

Reese found a dead fish on the beach and carried it around most of the day.  Such a tomboy!

They also collected bird feathers.  Dead fish and bird feathers.  Ummmm, ever heard of collecting seashells?  Nope, our kids like dead animal artifacts.
