The latest from Little Da Vinci

We are in love with Reese & Ryan's art class at Little Da Vinci.  They have brought home some pretty amazing masterpieces since we started.  This is the latest artwork they are working on and we are so excited to see the finished products.

They have also been asking to take music lessons.  Reese wants to take violin and Ryan wants to play the guitar (ukulele) for the smaller kids.  We haven't committed to that yet but we're seriously considering it.

Visiting Gigi & Great Poppa

One of the perks of coming to San Diego is visiting Cory's grandparents, Gigi & Great Poppa.  They are adorable and we love spending time with them.  We borrowed the Williams' car and headed down the Rancho Bernardo to spend the morning with them.  They have such a great little place and the kids always have a blast playing with all their fun toys.  This time around, Gigi busted out a Polaroid camera and the kids had waaaay too much fun snapping photos.

I'm always trying to get a good photo of both the girls looking at the camera.  Here they are, looking at the camera, but not so excited about it.  They would NOT smile for me.

Reese stole my camera and started snapping away.  The only photos we have of me are ones that Reese decides to take :)

And we're off...

We have been planning to go to San Diego for awhile now and it worked out perfectly to go this weekend.  I've been excited about getting out of town but DREADING the car trip that is 6-7 hours one way.  It's fine if you're going for a week, but hard to drive that much for a weekend.  I was griping it about it to Cory last week, saying I wish we could just snap our fingers and just be there.  Well, careful what you wish for because I'm pretty sure my wish came true.  Our friends, Brian & Claire, own their own plane and Brian (who used to be a commercial pilot) offered to fly out and pick us up.  YES!!!  We were SO excited.  He flew right into Chandler Regional Airport on Monday morning and we took off about 9:00am.  We were in Escondido before lunch time.  It was amazing and kicked off the weekend in a perfect way.

It was awesome to walk out on the tarmac and just load our luggage right on the plane.

Reese was ready for takeoff.  She was all 80's with her stack of bangles.

Mimi drove us to the airport.  She was nervous about the small plane and wanted to see us off, hoping it would make her feel better.

Cory and Ryder were pretty good co-pilots :)

Woodworking

Oh how I love the girls' teacher this year, Ms. Jeanne.  She has been a preschool teacher for over 20 years and she does some amazing things with the kids, one of the most recent being woodworking.  The girls brought home their masterpieces and were so excited to show them to us.  Ms. Jeanne worked one on one with each child to help them create, saw, glue, & paint their handiwork.  Reese chose to make a butterfly and Ryan made a castle.  I love that in a classroom of 17 kids they each had a different, unique piece.

Wowzer....it's been awhile

I think this is the longest I've gone without posting.  Almost one month to the day.  I logged into start typing and Blogger has changed their format.  I'm really out of sorts now.  Me no likey change.  I'm going to do my best on catching up and doing some back dated posts.  I gotta catch up on Easter, field trips, Disneyland, and much more.  I hope to get back in the groove of posting more often.  I really do miss blogging.  I just feel like there aren't enough hours in the day.

Operation birthday gift hideout

Our niece, Jasmine, is celebrating a birthday this week and Uncle Chris wanted to hide her birthday present in our garage.  Ryder thought it was his gift.  He's been climbing on it every day since it's been here and he's pretty smitten with the dirtbike.  It's hard getting him off of it.  So we decided to snap some photos of him.  We're hoping they will bequeath the bike to us when Jasmine and James are finished with it.
