We went to the park near our house yesterday and had some adventures. Both girls had gone potty before we left so I didn't think I needed to take the porta-potty. This park has no bathroom and I quickly realized that leaving home w/o the potty was a BAD idea. We were there for a few minutes playing and Ryan says "I need to go pee, Mommy." So we pulled the pants down, took the shoes off, and Ryan peed in the gravel/dirt by the picnic tables. She did pretty good for her first time peeing outdoors. I got her all dressed again and then Reese runs over and says, "Mommy, I need to pee too!" I thought she was doing it just because Ryan just went pee. Nope. She really had to pee, so we repeated the same scenario and she peed in the dirt next to her sister's puddle. I got her dressed and they went off playing for a few minutes.
But wait, it's not over. Reese ran back over to me and said, "Mommy, I need to go poopy." Awesome. I asked her if she wants to go home to use the potty. She said, "No, Mommy, my poopy is coming soon." It keeps getting better. I pulled her pants and shoes off and told her to go for it. She was so frazzled and kinda embarrassed. I felt SO bad. We finished our business and I cleaned it all up. Thank goodness no one was at the park except for my friend, Jen. We enjoyed the rest of our park outing after that, but let tell you...I am NEVER leaving the house again without the porta-potty.

Hahahaha that is awesome. We had to make our first pit stop the other day because Alexa had to go poop while we were driving from my mom's house to ours. Thank goodness for Chik-Fil-A bathrooms!
Sorry I missed out on THAT adventure!!
I always keep a "potty" in the back of my car in the event of one of the crises you mentioned. We live so far, I usually put on pull ups before we leave the house. Three kids + 45 minute drive to anywhere = someone's going to have to go before we get there.
One time, we were stopped in a traffic jam and Jocelyn had to pee. I had to take her out of the car and hold her inches from the ground while she did her biznis. You wouldn't believe how many glares and even honks I received from offended motorists.
At least you cleaned yours up :)
