Not sure where I fit in

This is a totally random post but I feel the need to blog about it.  I went to Nordstrom on today because their Womens & Kids Sale started and I thought I could find some great deals for myself.  Not so much.  I went to Brass Plum because that's where I feel comfortable most of the time.  While I was shopping I was surrounded by teenage girls that were yelling out things like OMG and LOL.  Shoot me now.  I felt like I was too old to be shopping in that section.  I checked out a few tops in the TBD  dept. and the cheapest thing I could find was $60.  No thanks.  Too frugal to shop in that dept.  Someone told me I should shop in the Point of View section of the store.  Cute but kind of mom-ish.  I guess that's where I'm at.  The kind of mom-ish dept.  I would really love to find a personal shopper/stylist that can go shopping with me and help me put a few outfits together.  I feel like I should be able to find some great stuff at Nordstrom, but don't know where to start.  Help!  I need a style makeover.

Lisa, you always look great, but we can try Chico's and Talbots if you want - or maybe Draper and Damon's. ;-) You don't need a stylist; you are beautiful even when you're wearing cut offs and flip flops!

I agree with your mom. But I totally get what you are saying. I was just looking in my closet thinking the same thing and realizing that I just can't wear junior things anymore. I need to get new clothes that fit right and look right that are realistic to wear. Cindy is having the Cabi rack sale on June 25, wanna come with me?

I hear ya girlfriend, we are so in between depts at this age. Did you know nordstroms has stylists? For free? My friend is one in LA. Just call and do a phone consult, or go in, and tell them what your looking for. They'll pick out the clothes for u. Sounds like heaven, right?!

It is so hard! I can totally relate. I love some of the fun and funky fashions, but then I think "Am I too old for that?" It's tough to find a good balance. I just stick with Gap and Old Navy because they just have a Women's section with no distinction for teens or moms!
