Back in the game

I'm out of shape.  Like the kind of out of shape where you get winded up a flight of stairs or can't bend over to touch your toes because you're so inflexible.  That's me, and I'm finally doing something about it.  I joined Mountainside on Monday afternoon and I've been going full steam since then.


 There are 2 things I really love in the world of fitness: cycle classes & yoga.  I set my alarm on Tuesday morning and got up at 4:30am for a 5:15am cycle class.  I splashed cold water on my face, brushed my teeth, wiped an inch of dust off my cycle shoes, and headed out the door.  I did OK in the class.  A few times I felt a burning in my lungs that I hadn't felt in a really long time, but I knew I could do it.  I finished at 6am and it was awesome to be home while everyone was still sleeping and get ready for the day in peace.  I went back again on Wednesday morning.  Another spin class, and this one was harder, but once again I was so happy to be done with my workout by 6am.  I could really get used to this.  Yesterday rolled around and I knew I could not handle another day of cycling.  I went to power yoga at 5:15am and it was just what I needed.  I moved through the sun salutations a little slow and treated it more like gentle yoga, but oh well, I was there and I was using it more for stretching than breaking a sweat.  THEN I went back later that day to do a cycle class with Karen at 4:30pm.  It was a good workout but now I'm sore.  I think it was the yoga.  I can really feel it in my body today.  I was going to do a muscle class this morning but there was no way.  I'm taking today and tomorrow off and will do a Zumba or hip hop class on Sunday.



I'm so glad I finally rejoined the gym.  I think it will help me feel so much better and give me energy throughout the day.  I just hope and pray I can keep the 5:15am classes going because that time really seems to be working for me.  Wish me luck!

You go girl! I'm still just hoping my body magically tones itself someday, lol. You are a morning workout ROCKSTAR! I'm envious of your determination.
