We tried to resist the princess takeover for as long as we could, but they've finally infiltrated the Whyte house. At the girls' 2nd birthday in November they received a box of 3 princess dresses and I put them away in a closet. They were discovered yesterday and now it's all over. Let the princess invasion begin.

A new favorite treat
I gave the girls their first popsicles about a month ago and now they can't get enough. I started making homemade ones with V8 Juice and they ask for one every day now. Here's few shots of Reese eating one outside.
Look at the juice running down her belly and her saggy shorts. Guess we're not quite ready for 3T shorts yet.

Breakfast
This video sums up what breakfast has been like at our house lately. The girls won't sit in booster seats anymore, so we either sit at our little table, stand on the chairs and eat at the counter. On Easter I told the girls that if they eat too much candy it will make them sick. Now they say, "That will make me sick!" for almost everything and I have to explain that not everything will make them sick, just some things. You'll also see them talking about poop in this video and that's one of the lovely things that Cory always jokes about with them. They were making pretend poop out of Play dough the other day and I about died.

Ruh-Roh
We went to the park near our house yesterday and had some adventures. Both girls had gone potty before we left so I didn't think I needed to take the porta-potty. This park has no bathroom and I quickly realized that leaving home w/o the potty was a BAD idea. We were there for a few minutes playing and Ryan says "I need to go pee, Mommy." So we pulled the pants down, took the shoes off, and Ryan peed in the gravel/dirt by the picnic tables. She did pretty good for her first time peeing outdoors. I got her all dressed again and then Reese runs over and says, "Mommy, I need to pee too!" I thought she was doing it just because Ryan just went pee. Nope. She really had to pee, so we repeated the same scenario and she peed in the dirt next to her sister's puddle. I got her dressed and they went off playing for a few minutes.
But wait, it's not over. Reese ran back over to me and said, "Mommy, I need to go poopy." Awesome. I asked her if she wants to go home to use the potty. She said, "No, Mommy, my poopy is coming soon." It keeps getting better. I pulled her pants and shoes off and told her to go for it. She was so frazzled and kinda embarrassed. I felt SO bad. We finished our business and I cleaned it all up. Thank goodness no one was at the park except for my friend, Jen. We enjoyed the rest of our park outing after that, but let tell you...I am NEVER leaving the house again without the porta-potty.

Happy Easter 2009
I love everything about Easter- the time of year, getting together with family, Easter egg hunts, and most of all, celebrating Jesus. We had such a great weekend with tons of fun. We dyed eggs on Saturday and went to church. This morning we woke up and hunted eggs in our backyard, just the 4 of us. That was my favorite part of the day. Then we went to Bama's house (Aunt Lori) for brunch, on to G&G's house for lunch and more egg hunting, and then headed to the park to meet up with my mom's family. The girls passed out between G&G's house and the park, so Cory took the girls home and I headed to the park to meet my family. We had such a wonderful day with family and each holiday with the girls gets better each year. We are so blessed!!

Dyeing Easter Eggs
We had a busy weekend filled with lots of activities and dyeing Easter eggs was one of them. I decided that Cory would be in charge of the Easter egg project and I would take the pictures/video. He's so patient and did great job teaching the girls how it works. This is the first time we've dyed eggs as a family and it was tons of fun!

Time for a nap
When the girls start fighting over toys, I know it’s time for a nap. Today they were fighting over two stuffed animals and Ryan started crying. After that they were on opposite sides of the family room and Reese said, “Are you cwying, Wyan?,” and Ryan said, “No, I not cwying.” Then, they ran toward each other, met in the middle of the room, and gave one another the sweetest hug.

I'm on the fence...
about what to get my mom for her birthday at the end of the month, but I think I found it. I've been clipping coupons religiously and found this lovely hat advertised in the coupon pages for $5.95. It's the must-have item for Spring. Look how happy this guy is!

Mom, I'm buying this for you and making you wear it to Ross on Tuesdays for your 10% discount. Oh, and also to the movies. And maybe Denny's. Now there will be no wondering--you'll just be sporting your cool new hat and they'll give you the discount on the spot.

My helpful little brother, AKA Uncle Jeff
Cory and I went out for a date night to a wine event this weekend and we were trying to figure out who would watch our girls. My mom was busy until 5:30ish and the event started at 4:30. We called my little brother, Uncle Jeff. He's 23 yrs. old, single, and lives in a bachelor pad w/ 2 dudes. I thought, "We can call and see if he'll stay with the girls, but I'm sure he's got plans". We were in luck. He agreed and arrived at 3:30. The girls were SO excited when he got there. Cory and I left and they were yelling out, "BYE, Mom & Dad!" He did great with them, playing outside, wiping bums after potty time, the whole nine yards.
Ryan informed me they want him to come back soon. This was our conversation tonight.
Ryan: Goodbye, Mommy.
Me: Where am I going?
R: With Daddy
Me: If I go w/ Daddy then who will watch you and Reese?
R: Uncle Jeff is coming over
Me: Really? Does he know this?
Reese is in the background saying "Member when Uncle Jeff came over we pwayed in the backyawd? Amember?"
I think we've found our new babysitter. I'm sure he's so eager to give up his weekends to babysit R&R!

Face painting anyone?
The girls had their faces painted at a birthday party we went to today. They were totally eager and willing to sit there and have their faces painted, but these pictures don't look like they were too excited. They look tortured actually. The lady put lipstick on them and it was a bit Jon Benet-esque. Ryan looks SO miserable in these last 2 photos & I'm cracking up every time I look at them. I thought it would be a cute idea for their 3rd bday party, but I'm rethinking it if these are the types of photos I'll get :)
