Happy V Day

Today was a really nice day for us.  It started off a little rough, trying to get back into the routine of things on a Monday morning, and a bit tired after a busy weekend.  Cory went to get the mail because we had neglected to check it for a few days.  In the mail I found 3 things that made me tear up:

1) A sympathy card from the animal clinic that helped us with Maddie.
2) A sympathy card from our vet's office (who we haven't been to in awhile & I'm still not sure how they knew she passed)
and the kicker--
3) A card with a stamp of Maddie's paw print.  We opted for this instead of bringing her ashes home, but that was a reality check when I saw her little paw stamped on paper.

It was really sweet to receive these cards in the mail but I'm still pretty emotional.  It's getting better every day.  I was really happy to see Bogusia at my door this morning.  She was so helpful with the kids and started tidying up right away.  Bless that woman.

Work was on the agenda for a few hours and then Cory and I had a day date and saw the movie, Just Go With It.  It was a great flick and just what we needed---a relaxing afternoon with some good laughs.  Going to the movies is one of our favorite things and we just don't get there enough.  We said today that we're going to start taking off Monday afternoons once a month and grab an early dinner or see a movie.

We got home to kids that had all just woken from late naps.  They were well rested, which gave me time to whip up a quick dinner and we could all sit down as a family.  I love these nights when we all eat together.  The girls had set up a tea party and they were excited to serve us.  After dinner we played in the playroom and that's when the fun really started.
Here's the tea party set up.  Reese was SO excited! The photo below was her taking our dessert order--cupcakes or Reese's pieces cheesecake.  I chose the cheesecake and Cory had the cupcake.  It sounded so good I was wishing we weren't pretending.

Here's Ryan with her princess dolls.  She said, "Hey Guys, sorry my babies are naked."  I told her I understood and that for the past 2 years my babies have run around naked.  It happens to the best of us.
Cory likes to play a game with the girls where he pulls items out of their ears.  He'll hide small items in his hands and then pretend to pull it out of their ears.  They think this is the funniest, greatest game ever!  Ryan said, "DADDY!  Why are you SO magic?!?"  Here they are laughing about the teapot lid he just 'found' in Reese's ear.
Now Reese wants to do it to Cory and it's the cutest interaction I've ever seen.
Thanks, to our little Reesie, for taking a photo of us together.  Doesn't happen too much these days.  She's pretty good with the big ol' Nikon camera.

Happy Valentine's Day.  Hope you all had a wonderful day with your loved ones!

xoxo
